“Up to this point, only two riders in the world had ever landed a triple cork,” recalls photographer Ahriel Povich, “and no one had ever even tried it switch. “But Pat’s been turning heads in Switzerland since he was a kid, and to him anything is possible! When I shot this in spring 2011 he was still 16. The season was ending early and the sun was melting the kicker fast, so he only had a few chances in the morning to try it. He spent a few minutes shaping the lip of the jump, dumped a bunch of salt on the run-in and landed the trick on his second attempt with massive style and a well held grab.” Check out the video of Pat Burgener’s triple cork here.
