For a small island with little snow, the UK has long punched above its weight in the snowboard scene, and legendary lensman Dan Milner is no exception. For many years he was the senior photographer at SUK Magazine, where he gained a reputation for embarking on adventures to such unlikely shred outposts as Pakistan, Kashmir and Morocco. Now based in the freeride mecca of Chamonix, powder is Dan’s raison d’être; he is a master of capturing fresh tracks and has the stamina to seek out unique angles using his trusty splitboard – skills that have come in handy when teaming up with Jeremy Jones as an official photographer on the Deeper/Further projects. Since 2009, Dan’s winters have been spent fighting frostbite with Jones on camping missions to Svalbard, Alaska and the high Alps, while his summers are filled with yet more exotic travel, this time on two wheels (his latest mountain bike shoot saw him visit Afghanistan). And all this whilst remaining a strict vegetarian – impressive!
