Cole’s photographic talent was spotted at an early age. At 13 years old, he sent the editor of Snowboarder Magazine some pictures he’d taken at the US Open. His natural eye was obvious and before long he was taken under the wing of Burton’s veteran lensman Jeff Curtes. A gig as Forum’s official photographer followed, where he cemented his reputation for modern, punchy action shots and pin-sharp portraits developed in the digital darkroom. Having established himself as the freshest image maker in the scene he is now employed on the biggest of snowboarding projects, including team shoots for Nike and the recent Red Bull movie The Art of Flight.
